Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Chop the apple into large chunks (discard the core & seeds), and set aside.
  2. To a high speed blender (see Note #2), add ice, almond milk, chopped apple, collagen (optional), flaxseed, cinnamon, and protein powder (see Note #3).
  3. Cover, and blend for 30-60 seconds until smooth and completely combined. Pour into one 16 ounce glass, and garnish with an apple slice (optional). Serve with or without a reusable bamboo straw, and enjoy!

Notes

  1. Use a very cold apple for this recipe. Otherwise, your shake will be lukewarm.
  2. Both the NutriBullet high speed blender, and the Vitamix high-speed blender work extremely well for this recipe.
  3. The key to the flavor (and nutrients) of this Caramel Apple Protein Shake is the protein powder. I prefer using 310 Shake caramel sundae protein powder (plant-based), not only for the flavor, but for all the healthy nutrients, probiotics, vitamins, and the fact that there are zero sugars.
  4. For more tips and to find out why I chose to use these brands of protein powder and collagen powder, visit my Blog Comments & Tips for this recipe on the website.
  5. Makes one 16 ounce serving (or two 8 ounce snack servings).

How to Make this Caramel Apple Protein Shake!

Blog Comments & Tips

A deliciously decadent protein shake!

I usually don’t eat enough protein, so about 12 years ago I started drinking one protein shake every day. Even though I frequently change up the flavor of the protein powder, it can get pretty boring. So, I’m always trying to develop new protein shake recipes to make it interesting. This Caramel Apple Protein Shake is just that! With the flavor of caramel apples, and the protein and nutrients packed in this breakfast drink, you cannot go wrong.

Using only 5 ingredients, this protein shake is plant-based & dairy-free, and very quick to make.  In about 5 minutes you’ll have a delicious and healthy meal replacement that is perfect for breakfast or an afternoon pick-me-up.

I’m very particular when it comes to flavor, and this 310 Shake caramel sundae protein powder has a very strong caramel flavor, which pairs perfectly with a sweet tart taste of a Honeycrisp apple. This protein powder has zero sugar, only 110 calories, and 1 net carb. Other than the apple, this shake would actually be keto friendly! The bonus is that it is rich in superfood nutrients and probiotics, which are important for immunity and gut health.

How do you ensure the best results from this recipe?

My 3 tips to making a Caramel Apple Protein Shake:

  1. For the best flavor and nutritional punch, use these exact ingredients. The 310 Shake caramel sundae protein powder gives it that delicious caramel flavor, and it’s strong enough so the apple doesn’t overpower the shake.

  2. Although I always store my apples at room temperature, for this recipe you need it nice and cold. Just place the apple in the fridge overnight, then slice it up and add it to the blender. Otherwise your shake will be lukewarm. If you try to add more ice, it will dilute the flavor. Also, do NOT peel the apple. Most of the nutrients are in the peel of an apple.

  3. Use a high-speed blender for this recipe. Both the NutriBullet high speed blender, and the Vitamix high-speed blender work great.

Santé!

Footnote: Remember to refrigerate your apple overnight so it’s nice and cold. That will help chill the protein shake without having to dilute it with more ice.
